Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Senior Geologist will be working in a challenging role in a multi-cultural Joint Operating Company as a Talisman secondee in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. There are plans for an active infill drilling program in late 2010 This role will be responsible for: Conduct various detailed geological/geophysical studies including building geomodels to support Operations, New Development, and Exploitation/ Exploration. Experience with various computer systems, including UNIX and/or PC based systems (e.g:. Geoframe, Petrel, Arcview), for subsurface interpretation. Familiarity with geostatistics as it applies to development of reservoir models is an asset. Conduct all aspects of prospect evaluation and generation, reserve calculation and risk assessment processes and documentation. Contribute in peer review process and management presentations. Prepare geological portions of drilling programs. Input in overseeing drilling/seismic operations and preparation of final operations and post operational interpretation reports. Contribute to petrophysical analysis and reservoir description studies. Generate geological/geophysical reservoir maps and correlations. Contribute to decision making on technical, operational, and economic impact within group and possibly across departments. Audit/oversee/coach the work and development of less senior geoscientists and/or national staff. Input and oversee budget/capital spending items. Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of geological experience, including knowledge of sequence stratigraphy, structural geology, prospect generation and reserve valuation. Ability to communicate in a multi-disciplinary/multi-cultural team environment. Ability to work independently within broad guidelines and carry out special, complex and advanced level studies/projects, developing creative solutions. Ability to work within a team framework and interact constructively with peers. You are viewed as a very skilled geoscientist within field of discipline, both internally and externally among peers.
