The Petroleum Engineering Division of the Department of Natural Resources fosters the exploration, development and production of the Province's hydrocarbon resources, and provides related regulatory and engineering services.
The Manager of Petroleum Engineering (Drilling and Production) is a senior level professional who manages and develops the Province's role in petroleum drilling and production activities. You will oversee the technical review and assessment of drilling program approvals and authority to drill wells. By supervising the collection of well engineering and well evaluation data from stakeholders, you maintain effective relationships with those groups and other jurisdictions. Other duties are staff recruitment, training, performance monitoring, budgeting, the preparation of contracts and managing and coordinating consultants retained for specialized petroleum engineering expertise. You will also provide expert advice to senior officials and represent the Department at public forums and meetings.
You have knowledge of drilling, production and reservoir engineering, capital & operating cost determination, project assessment and computer applications. You possess initiative together with strong analytical, oral/written communications, organizational, supervisory and interpersonal skills. You have graduated from an accredited university with a Bachelor of Engineering with petroleum industry experience. Registration with PEGNL is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Salary: $64,088.00 - $83,314.00 (HL 23)
